A poem which describes my current feelings about my marriage.
Battle For Love
Two souls passing through life.
Their encounter orchestrated by fate.
Their future navigated on a bewitching and frenzied sea of seduction.
They come to be the others vitality like oxygen in the air breathed.
Every second apart breeding torment and sorrow.
Two lovelorn daydreamers with stars in their eyes
Oblivious of the calamities lurking in their tomorrow.
Their rapport pulverized by their self-indulgent, self-satisfying guise
Crucifying their love
Words like nails being driven into flesh
Both hearts left alone bleeding out to a near death
These mortal wounds afflicted by their love and hate
Now left trying to alleviate the pain
To heal the wounds shared by the two
Or lay to rest their precious unity within a dark, desolate tomb
Do they depart?
Left to mend their hearts and grieve for their loss
Or do they retaliate this obstruction that has come between them
Do they have the resolution required to fight for their love?
Have they beaten the vitality out of each other?
Is it possible for them them to wage this crusade?
Armed with love and hope as their only weaponry to prevail
Only time holds the answer which ends this tale
For fate herself is who is navigating this ship's sail
