it's a classicist novel..the accent is not on the action itself, but on the caracterising of the character and on the introduction of classicistic philosophy:the world is perfect the way it is. Everything happens with a purpose, all you have to do is sit back and view the show.Candide is caught while "having fun" with the barons daughter.He's kicked out of the castle.And thus, his adventure begins.Everything repeats itself.He travels from Portugal to America and everywhere people are the same...In the end, he gives up all philosophy and dedicates himself to hard physical work.
