Question:
Poems.... Can you write? Challenge to all!?
I have been having a debate with a friend. She says it takes special trained people to write poems. I think it just takes someone who has had a life alternating experience. So, I decided to see what you the public can do and her and I will read them. *not for homework* I just want to see if originality sill exists. Please be original?? not matter how good or bad.. Make it about you or something you know well.

A Strange Land
I thought that I would never see
A duck that nests up in a tree,
But there it sits, and that's because
We're not in Europe, we're in Aus.
We have so many unique things -
A bird which laughs instead of sings,
A dozen animals and more
Which bounce instead of walk. I'm sure
You don't see those down every street
And some have such enormous feet!
The monotremes I'll not describe-
They out-do every other tribe
For strange anatomy and habit,
So much unlike the feral rabbit
And even ferals such as cats
(Which should be made up into hats).
And we have trees which keep their leaves
But shed their bark like worn-out sleeves
And give us oils which we can use
To clean the house or clear the nose. . .
So come and visit this strange land
Of mountain green and desert sand
But be aware the danger, then -
You may not want to go again.
