Question:

"Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka?

In Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, is there a specific age given for Gregor? and, what was his official cause of death? thanx in advance.

It's hard to say what is age is.
I always figured he was younger, but that could be anywhere from 18 to late 20's.
He is supporting his family's debts as a door to door salesman and is still living at home, which are a few reasons why I think he's younger.

One could argue his cause of death to whatever fits their theme. Keep in mind poor Gregor stopped eating for quite some time, then, afterawhile, he went downstairs but it was too much for his mother and his father went on a violent rambage and dealt Gregor some crippling blows.
Finally, he went downstairs one last time, which again proved to be fruitless and reaffirmed his alienation.
He went upstairs and died.
Could be from neglect, broken heart, results of his injury, malnutrition from not eating, dust inhalation. :)
