This is a great question to put in "dancing." :]

But poetry is something that needs to come from the heart. You can't force it. Sometimes it helps if you try to not follow any particular form or scheme, like the iambic pentameter and the rhyme scheme of sonnet. Just write was comes to you. It is okay if poetry is disjointed and weird. That is why it isn't prose :]
You are allowed to do whatever you want. Don't give yourself any limitations. Listen to some music that may inspire you, to meditate, or just relax. Poetry comes out best when write about what you feel.
