I Love Compiling Top Ten Lists ... Where Can I Publish Them?

I've embarked on my freelance-writing journey, and I'm seeking my niche. In "How To Write Like An Expert About Anything," Hank Nuwer asserts people love lists. So do I. I've spent hours wondering who the ten most-talented novelists of all-time are ... the ten most-talented chess World Champions ... composers ... painters ... World War I fighter pilots. I'd not only compile the lists, I'd justify my rankings using data and expert opinions.

Is there a magazine or website that compiles lists on a variety of topics AND justifies the rankings (the "Book of Lists" doesn't justify its rankings.)? If not, do I simply query editors at magazines that cover these subjects (for example, querying Writer's Digest about the Top Ten novelists.)?
