Question:

How can you preserve original typed papers without the ink smudging or eventually fading with time?

I have a lot of papers I'd like to keep, but I notice when I keep them in envelopes or in plastic covers, they will still fade with time, or the paper eventually sticks to the plastic and when I remove it the letters are stuck to the plastic. What can I do?

Unfortunately I can't use lamination because I will periodically have to show the oginal paper copy to others.

Hi Wab - I have a scanner, but I need to preserve the "originals" just in case I need to show them in the future with original signatures, and not copied or scanned signatures.

Hi,

To preserve original typed papers without the ink smudging or eventually fading with time, you need a scanner.

If you don't have a scanner, go here for prices: (http://www.pricewatch.com/scanners/)....

Make sure you can hook it up to your USB port on your computer.

Then scan your documents into a folder on your computer.

Once all the papers are in a folder, you need a CD burner to transfer the folder to a CD.

If you don't have a CD burner, check Price Watch above for prices.

Next, burn the folder into a CD and your papers will be saved forever and can be accessed from the CD.
