Question:

Do you ever feel inspired to write poetry?

Please tell me a little about your experiences with poetry, if you like.

Personally: I used to love to write songs and sing them, but I did not realize that was what I was doing, or that it was, in fact, poetry. When a teacher started us on studying and writing poetry, I had a rocky start because I did not really realize I was already a novice poet. I got in trouble with my first poem, writing something that worried the teacher, but I just wrote the first thing that came from my nervous mind. After the poetry lessons, we moved on and the other students forgot poetry, mostly, but I had the poetry bug and wrote increasing numbers of poems. A couple of years ago, I wrote a whole book of poems (a journal) with all kinds of poems. Everything seems to inspire me, though I now have less time for poetry. Poetry is the music of the soul, of inspiration and creativity.

So what are your experiences with rhyme and verse?
