one of my fave poems is about how fairytales always leave the sad parts out

What drives you? Love, adventure, passion, life...fair tales. Reach inside yourself. Go to the place that inspires you, if that is on a rock in the mountains, or a busy city street, or maybe just a place in your head. Think about what you poems you like. You mentioned the fair tale thing, so work with that. Write about what your fair tale world would look like...what you think your lovers, friend, pets would look like. Be silly, be serious, be stupid, write for yourself, write for another.
