What is this poem about?
So im doing a project on these two poems by Margaret Atwood, "Take my hand" and "photograph of me" I was wondering if anyone knows what they are about, like the content, theme and symbols in the poems, stuff like that thanks!

- The poem is an invitation to the reader to reassess the perception of where precisely the voice of the author is coming from.

- Atwood changes the position of the lake between the 13th line and the 17-18th lines as she describes the lake as "In the background there is a lake" yet later describes it as "in the centre of the picture". I think this is because the lake is portrayed as irrelevant in the first half but Atwood wishes to draw our attention to the lake in the second half and does so by rearranging it's position to the centre and main focal point of the photograph.
2. Take my hand
- vivid poem about addiction:
You take my hand and
I'm suddenly in a bad movie,
it goes on and on and
why am I fascinated
the metaphor is clear - bad movie.
Have to face it I'm
finally an addict,
the smell of popcorn and worn plush
lingers for weeks
you - is symbolic of types of addiction and the poet uses images of movie-going to illustrate it.
