Courtesy on questions and answers?

I notice sometimes people are rude when responding to someone who has misspelled a word or is hard to understand? Shouldn't we all consider that some people have handicaps and for some spelling is not easy for them. I am wondering if those same people who are rude would treat someone who misspelled words or whose grammar isn't the best that way face to face.
I noticed on the Genealogy Board many of the regulars will give answers like that a thumbs down.
