I think it is both. There is no wrong answer. Because the reason of art, is...well..Like if an artist was having an espicially good mood today, he/she might paint a bright sunny day. And that day..or in this point "life" was imitating the art. And then an artist could paint up a scene in their mind randomly, and It happened in the next few days.
