I'm imagining-trying- a film like this where the spy, try as he/she might, cannot get another pair of shoes. First, his/her luggage is misrouted, but from there I need your help. What would you try, and what would thwart you? thanx.

Why can't they buy another pair of shoes? Sounds a little far fetched to me. One rule I have been told and try to follow is to never insult your audience's intelligence. Maybe they are in the middle of a job when the shoe starts squeaking? That would explain why they couldn't replace it at that moment. Say they don't want to take their shoes off because there is something about the ground that would hurt bare feet, etc. You get the idea...
