How did the invention of the camera affect on painting, especially portraits? And how might the technological development have changed concepts in pictorial representation?

there was a less of a need for portarits and painters who drew them cuz the camera could take an acuratea and precisous picture (portarit) of someone for the fraction of the cost

Pictorial representation was more precise and accurate cuz it took a picture of you in that moment. unlike a portarit where u have to sit still untill the portrait is done
