Oh, there's this tip I heard from some old Chinese fortune teller. That if you know that room is haunted, you have to knock 3 times before entering. That way the ghost knows that it has to make some room for the living, and peacefully return to 'their side' of the room. After all, they're there before you are so you're invading their 'privacy'. Don't know if it's true though.
