Art is a message to viewers from the artist on the artist's values and beliefs. If the viewers are unable to understand his message or see any reason to see the artist's values as valid, than the artist will fail and starve, unless another generation happens to share the values of the artist, then he is successful. It's like writing, public speaking, friendship, and love; success depends on both parties to work together, or it fails. |
