Nothing. To "expect" something is to miss it entirely. If I went to a museum, for instance, expecting to be moved to tears by the beauty, then I'd find nothing that pleased me. In expecting, I'd already have some sort of idea what it should be, and no matter how beautfil some piece was, I'd not see it because it wasn't what I expected.
I'd rather be caught by the beauty, the passion, the darkness, the whatever, unawares.
