I have never been to one but my son is a Marine and he went to one last year. The tickets were $225.00 and this includes one for your date, if you want to bring one. All of the Marines wear their dress blues and the women are in long gowns. My son was a left color guard so I got the video of the ball. There are a lot of speeches, a lot of toasts, a sit down dinner, a dance and then the cutting of the cake.
It was a very beautiful affair, looked like somethng straight out of a movie! If you have a chance to go to one, do it!
My son did not get to go this year as he is in Iraq, but said he will go next year again as it was really something he would never forget.
