Question:

What would be the best guitar for me?

I just want a standard normal guitar to play on for hobby. ANything would be okay, but I hear Fender is the best quality.

Fender makes a good guitar but I would not call them the best quality. Most serious acoustic guitar players will say that Martin makes one of the best. But you don't need to pay Martin prices for a hobby guitar. An inexpensive Washburn, Dean or Fender acoustic should suit you just fine. Just make sure the action is low (i.e. the strings are close to the frets but no so close that they cause a buzzing sound when you press between certain frets) and if you don't have callouses yet, you might want to start by putting electric guitar strings on your acoustic. They will be easier to press on and won't hurt your fingers so much.

Now, if you want to buy an affordable but good quality electric guitar instead of an acoustic, I would recommend a Fender or an Ibanez. If you're on a budget, Rogue (through Musician's Friend) makes a really decent electric for a great price.

You can get a pig nose amp or something small to start with but buy a decent cord. Cheap cords suck and you'll wish you'd spent the extra money once you hear the popping and crackling noises.

Happy shopping!
