When vacationing in the Tampa Bay, FL area I had the opportunity to spend half a day at the Salvador Dali museum. It was breathtaking. There is a website www.salvadordalimuseum.org which you may wish to visit and get information about his paintings. He worked from the early 1920's in to the 1960's and went through various periods like Cubism and then on to Surrealism. I purchased a book on his works and it is absolutely wonderful. I really like his contrast of colors, really bright reds and yellows often set against dark black, brown and tans. I often visit www.art.com to view art pieces. You may wish to visit that site and type in the name Dali and see what pieces pop up. I believe it is easier to view pieces and make interpretations rather than try to describe pieces. I believe he used mainly oils which really gives me reason to appreciate his talent, because I know firsthand how difficult oils are to work with. Well, I should say at least they are for me. |
