Question:

Heard and saw this wonderful quote: "Nothing human is foreign to us" Who was the first to say this?

The quote came to my attention in this context "Every one of us bears within himself the possibilty of all passions, all destinies of life in all its forms. Nothing human is foreign to us" - Edward G. Robinson. A search on the web brings up this quote in the midst of several texts: especially religious, one book review, a film review, a few bloggers. One quotes a certain "Terence" (?). Another says it's excerpted from Out of Solitude, first published in Cornerstone (ISSN 0275-2743). I'm still not convinced. What is its orgin?

Yes, Terence, or Terentius, from his play Heauton Timorumenos (typically a Greek name although Terence wrote in Latin, but he adapted many Greek writings: The Self-Tormentor) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/terence...
