Whats the name of the guy?

Whats the name of the guy who cant speek or walk, so he uses a wheel chair that he types something into talk.
I think he's a professer or something, and I'm not sure but I think his last name is Hoffman.
Can somebody please tell me his name I want to do some research on him.

Stephen Hawking. He's the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge (previously held by such lightweights as Isaac Newton and Charles Babbage :) ). He wrote a popular book called A Brief History of Time, and he's done guest shots on The Simpsons and Star Trek Next Generation. His Wiki page is below.
