It can be a strength if you are willing to suffer the consequences.
I am very honest and have found that people really did not want the honest truth about themselves or situations that they are involved with. They just want you to listen and agree with their solutions, demands or whatever the case may be.
If you mean honest as in finding something that has been lost and you return it. That too can be a bad consequence as they may think that you are the one that took it, or stole it, as the case may be.
The only time honesty is a strength is when you are honest about yourself and to yourself.
