How is the literature in the U.S.A today?

is it more varied than ever, the same, mostly by Canadian writers or mostly by Hispanic writers?

I think it's more varied than ever. Just go to any super Borders or Barnes&Nobel and you'll see hundreds and hundreds of categories and subjects and topics.

Go back one or two hundred years, and I'd guess 97% of those topics were not written about.

As far as Canadian and Hispanic writers, I'm not sure. If I had to guess using logic, I'd say there are more Hispanic writers just because there are more Hispanic people.
