How do you make the background characters when you answer a question on the internet?

If you mean "Avatars", go into your Yahoo! e-mailbox, double click on the silhouette in the box (don't click to read your e-mail) and it should bring you to the Avatars menu. There, you can choose a face and the color of the eyes, hair styles and color, clothing, etc... However, if you have Yahoo! Beta which wasn't able to support the Avatar apps... I wouldn't know. I've not upgraded back to Yahoo! Beta.
