Question:

Best Zildjan model cymbals?

i have the zildjan ZBT pack of cymbals for about ayear or 2, and im staring to see dents in them and the sound isn't all that great. I'm a huge fan of zildjan cymbals so does anyone know the best of the best kind of cymbals to get?. I don't mind spending a ton of money, i just wanna make sure my money goes in the right direction

You want to get "K" Zildjians. These are the more expensive cymbals, but they are well worth it. NEVER buy cymbals in a pack if you are serious about how they sound. When I used to play six nights a week, I would go to the music store and try ten or more cymbals to find the right one. And if I wanted another size, I'd do the same thing. Then I would play them together to determine how they sound relative to eachother. It's a painstaking process...a fun one though...and it is worth the time it takes.

As for cymbals getting old, do you keep them clean? Little dings and dents happen, but the way you are describing them may mean there's something wrong. Some cymbal polishes by the way keep the cymbal clean, but the printing on the cymbal comes off sometimes.

My favorite cymbal is an 18" Thin Crash.

Oh, and you may want to check out Sabian's high end cymbals. Similar quality. Their Hi Hat cymbals may even be better.
