I have a talent, but i dont know how to tell people. please help?

the thing is that i can sing. really. im not one of those people who audition for american idol and think they can sing, when they actually sound like a cat being run over by a truck or something. nobody but me knows i can sing. my dad is a HUMONGOUS music lover, he practically has a studio thing. but i just don't kow how to tell anyone. i really think that singing is what i want to do and i dont want my life to pass by without anyone realizing it. does anyone know a way how i can tell my family that i can sing, without just bursting out, "my heart will go on" or something at the dinner table? thanks very much! :)

walk around the house singing to yourself. not really for anyone else to hear but just in a you have a song stuck in your head way. i do it all the time haha. then when your dad hears you, if you have the good voice you say you do i'm sure he'll say something about it, and then you could say "i'd actually like to try to record something in your studio. can you help me?" then you can really belt it out at he'll be able to see how good you are.
