Anyone know about antique painted tiles?

I have aquired some tiles I believe were painted in 1901. I'm trying to find out who painted them.
s. Lucia next to an inverted triangle on the other sideit says siena. on to of the triangle is initials D.R.

Sounds Italian... There is a famous village outside of Florence called "Siena" and S. Lucia is also Italian... not sure about the initials. Hard to comment with out a visual.

I would Google all of this information until you find something solid... There are artisans all over Italy... how the tiles came to you depends upon where you live...
