Im using a combination of interent and magazine pictures.

i recently read Lord of the Flies for the first time and there are a variety of symbols that may be of use to you.
-Piggy's glasses
-the conch
-the mountain
-fire
-Lord of the flies (pig head on a stick)
-the forest
-the parachuter
-the marine who resuces the boy
-the scar
-the huts

hope this list helps and good luck! btw, are you doing the collage with mag cut outs, internet images, your own drawings, ... just curious.
