Do most Canadians know about 'The mad trapper'? Is it taught in school?

I read the story of the mad trapper on a random surf on the internet and it was the most amazing story I have ever read.

This should be made into a film it really needs to be told to the world.

It would help if you could estimate a percentage of Canadians who know the story. Thanks
