Why is London so revered, as well as New York and Paris? Why not Nairobi or Delh

Why is London so revered, as well as New York and Paris? Why not Nairobi or Delhi? Or Hobart?

I can't comment on Nairobi or Delhi, but have you ever been to Hobart? No offence to all the Tasmanians out there, but Hobart is not known for its huge contribution to the Arts or culture. London, Paris and to a lesser extent New York (I say lesser extend simply due to the age of NYC, the US is still in ints "teens" in historical terms) have all been the home of great literature and art, and have produced many famous artists, writers, thinkers etc.
