Question:
Black ribbons on a tree?
We found some black ribbons tied to a tree of ours. Does anyone know why somebody would do this? They were only tied to dead branches.

The tree is in our backyard, up against the house, where nobody can really see it unless they came into our backyard. I did trim the tree (I have had quite a few other projects on my hands as well, since the yard was in huge disrepair when we moved in). There is no HOA in the area.

It's probably some kind of a sick joke. There are people out there who think they can "spook" people into believeing they can put a curse on them. They can't!
It might be a good idea to file a police report on it just for the record. Then if anything else is tried, you're already on record and the culprits could be in for a rough ride.
The only other idea I have is that, maybe, you have a neighbor who is trying to harrass you. It may also be a good idea to tell the neighbors about the black ribbons and that the police have been notified. If they are the culprits, you're not likely to have anymore trouble out of them.
