How have you successfully found your lost cat?

My cat Nate has been missing for almost 2 weeks. I'd like to hear tips or nice stories....

i am a nurse.one night at about 1230 am i went downstairs to smoke and saw a very healthy looking and friendly cat. this was in March sometime. it was cold. i felt sorry for it so i gave it some of my dinner and it jumped on my lap so i pet it for a while and let it be warm on my bady and after my half hour dinner break i went upstairs. at 3 am i came down for a cigarette and brought water with me. in the morning when i went home, he was gone. that night he wqas back again. i was trying to find him a home asking the other nurses and aides if they wanted a nice cat and no one did. when i went out that night for my lunch i saw a doctor leaving and he was talking to the cat. i told him he could pick it up because it was very friendly. he did and said he wanted to take it home for his children. i was happy. as i ate my lunch, i saw the doctor put the cat on the roof of his car and open the front door and start talking on his phone. i assume his wife said no way so he took the cat to the other end of the parking lot and wqalked back to his car. i felt bad, theis maintenance man was there with me and said he gave the cat some food earlier and i said i felt bad and was worried he would get run over following everyone into the parking lot. well i was off for 3 days when i came back,the maintenance man said you are never going to believe this. maintenance took the cat into the warehouse and had animal control called and on the way because administration was pissed to find the staff was feeding the cat. he and this lady from xray were wqalking into the warehouse coincidentally to get something and did not know about this at the moment nor did they know the cat was even in there. to the maintenance mans amazement, the xray tech shrieked, oh my god!thats my cat! he has been missing since january. now THAT is a great story if i ever knew one. i mean,what are the odds that you lose your beloved pet and it finds you at work, 10 minutes before animal control came. awesome and very true story.hope yours turns out like this one.
