i expect we'll be playing another game of kickball tomorrow. sometimes the best games are played at 9 at night, when it's all dark and all you see is the white ball and the players movement..you hear the kick of the ball, the call of "fair!" or "foul!" sometimes you just wanna never stop playing, when you get into the game and you stop worrying about everything else, when you think only about the game and what your next move will be....when you run and when you sweat, play hard and play dirty, that's when you forget everything you don't want to think about.

i love the feel of the breeze running through my hair and cooling me off as i run. i love to hear the kicking sound of the ball, the feel of it against my shoe. i love to call a foul and call a fair, to yell and shout and scream. i love to see the players move and breath and talk. to stand in the grass to wait upon the next pitch, to hear the cicadas sing their night song, watching the light wind stir upon the leaves of the trees. and all is silent and still and perfect in that one moment; it is the calm before the storm. the next the pitch is thrown and the players yell and whoop and argue, and the mind that was once blank fills with thoughts and words and actions.
