I have received an Internship and now I am looking to find out if I can be sponsored by a private person.?

I am a foreigner and I have received an unpaid Internship in the Arts in US. As I cannot afford the expenses myself, there is a person who might be willing to support me financially for the whole duration of the program-2 years. How can I make this happen legally? Can someone tell me more about the law of sponsorship in the Arts? I have to be very specific, it's a private sponsorship from a distant relative, not an earned sponsorship from an institution . Any information would be very helpful.Thanks.

Call an international lawyer and ask him--they usually won't even charge you just to speak with him. Also, ask someone in Human Resources--I know there are a lot of foreign students in internships here in Louisville, Kentucky. I would get 2 opinions just to be on the safe side.
