Question:

I need help for my creative writing class?

I am taking a creative writing class, and we have to write poems. I am good at composing stories, and other things, including journalism, but poems are not my strong point. Any easy tips on how to write a poem that actually makes sense, and is written properly.
Also, what kind of stories would you want to read in the newspaper if you are a high school or college student?

And it is required to submit articles to a papers.
The teacher is very easy going. She lets us do what we want. So that makes it alot better.
I just cant write a poem that actually sounds good.

poems, if u read poetry, u can get ideas on how to write it...make the ends of every line rhyme, stick to topics u know something about and just kind of go from there....one thing i have to say, i hate creative writing classes, took one, becuz poetry is a much more emotional based type writing than academic (to me) and it bugs that teachers would have the nerve to judge what's right or wrong about how u use poetry to express urself...that being said...whateva the teacher says, since u dont do poetry normally, follow to the letter..it'll suck at first but it gets better and a lil easier (even as someone that likes to write poetry, academically i suck'd! lol) and stories....as long as it feels realistic (in terms of fiction) im down for but plot has to be consistant and all actions relevent (like "twists") to hold a good interest as far as nonfiction goes...anything more or less relatable to younger society that is discussing "older" society (like politics, economics...) in a clear intelligent way im all for.....
