Question:

Do you like my poem? just say what you feel?

Let them grow to their own true selves,
This is a height so high.
Or shrink them small with your anger,
Afterall, to you, they are.

They are so weak and innocent,
So feed the innocent well.
Not just with food, but also love,
Or feed them fear instead.

Through your hatred or through your love,
The innocent will grow.
Where shall they place the anger you gave,
But to the people they once were.

Your desease of anger'll be alive,
Long after you are gone.
They no longer shall be innocent,
Like you they will be evil.

I second Andrew M- I appreciate the moralism and the idea of raising children well. As far as literary value goes... it doesn't give me anything to hold on to. Maybe some metaphor? A garden? A certain plant? Something about the day you realized your puppy (or even your kid) wasn't going to be your little robot marching by your side. Of course I'm talking about an entirely different poem. You have to let your readers make their own connections.
