Question:

How do we justify the $ spent this X-mas against the great number of children who will die of hunger today?

because as sure as i purchased a $349. Apple Ipod for my sister in law as a christmas gift this morning, thousands of children will certainly die, dead as worthless doornails, in third world countries and probably here in the west to.

What is up with this? what sort of illusary life do i have to be living to carry on in this way? And why are we not in tears over this?

It's easily justified... quite simply our society is selfish, self centred and couldn't give a toss about anyone other than themselves. Even the giving has become a selfish act in some cases.. don't want others thinking ill of you in any way, better make it look like you're doing well and care etc. The whole things a load of bollocks if you ask me. Instead of giving a gift, I reckon we should ask each other for a dance. Share a dance with your sister in law, your granny, your neice etc.. Lots of giggles and two people share more togetherness & memories in dancing together than any gift. Think about it.. you remember it when you danced with someone no matter what the situation.
