Look on the website www.petfinder.com and you can search by local rescue groups in your area. Just get a list and call around. That website has EVERY shelter in the US. And I'll bet you more than half are looking for volunteers. The only thing that you might have a problem with is your age, because am almost positve you have to be at least 14 to work with a permit, but I am not sure if the same rules apply to volunteer work.
