Question:

A Missing A Friend Poem?

I need a good poem. I want it to be about friendship and missing having a friend around. Not a love poem. Just a friend poem. Maybe something about drifting apart and having new and seperate lives and missing them. It can be a poem someone else worte or something you wrote. Please help.

The reason I am not writing one is because I am not good at poetry. Short stories I can do. Things that are made up. Other than that I suck. HAHA.

Hope you can use this. I didn't know the circumstances, so I wrote it as though it was someone who had moved away.

You're gone now, I know it's true,
You're my friend and I surely miss you.
But still, I remember all the things we would do,
As friends together, just we two.

And now of all we did, I miss even the littlest of things,
And hope I'm hearing from you when the phone rings.
If only a short friendly note to me you'd send,
I would know without a doubt you're still my friend.

I hope we can still be friends even across the miles,
Perhaps a card on holidays or birthday wishes.
Or maybe a photo with happy smiles,
Even that would help, if only for a while.

Your friendship is a wonderfully great treasure,
And through remembrances of yesterday.
I can think of it with grand pleasure,
As Our friendship was of such high measure.

Surely time must pass and is certainly a changer,
So with that in mind, please do not not become a stranger.
Because with all true kindness and care within me.
I want always to be your friend and that, is a certainty.
