Yes, Karen, of course you can.
I'm not sure what areas you're most interested in, so I'll throw out some brainstorming ideas, and maybe something will be what you were thinking of. How about these:
1. Art and design....If you have a great eye and some talent, you might think of producing art or going in to a home design business. Many freelance artists work from home. For a good source on this see:

PS: I feel sure you know this, but there are some dubious organizations that will promise to set you up in your own home business if you send them a lot of money. Any organization that says that is not likely to give you what you're looking for. You should avoid them at all costs.
