Any instances of eggs being used as a metaphor for the Jewish people? Citations please.?

When the Jewish population of Israel stands tall and united, they can carry all their brethren upon their shoulders. Their weakness is tested when they are squeezed from all sides, such as by Lebanon and other neighboring countries. This is analogous to an experiment whereby a heavy cement block is placed on top of a carton of eggs. The crown of an eggshell (which is an arch/dome shape) can support this cement block because the weight is distributed evenly along the structure of each egg, and the eggs are in close proximity to one another in the carton. It is easy to crush an egg by squeezing it from the sides. While it is difficult to crush an egg by squeezing it from its ends.
