French Horn Rotor Cleaning?
Does anyone have any alternatives to chemical rotor cleaning? I know I'm putting off the enevitable, but for now I'd like to clean them without having my hornin the music shop for several weeks.

1. put the horn in the bathtub in warm soapy water and and let it soak for 5-10 minutes, then take it out and put it in cool fresh water. That will loosen up a lot of gunk and stuff.
2. Try to find a small music shop run by an individual not a corporation. In my experience they tend to be much more punctual with repairs because they need your business so they don't won't to make you unhappy about something. However find someone who has been there before to make sure they won't rip you off.
