Because it's protected from over development of human sources of pollution and is protected by a National park authority

If you mean as in why the lake district - Just go there it's wonderful i lived there for most of my life then came to a city the fresh air and greenery are the things i miss the most.The ability to go for a walk and not see rubbish everywhere the ability to actually see the stars . See otters, foxes, butterflies, undamaged plants. Childhood in a place like that is wonderful
