Question:

Does anyone know an example of a -GOOD- example of a government justice or injustice?

Hello, I would greatly appreciate if anyone could point me towards an article, or just any example that would make news of a recent (within 1 year) example of a government justice OR injustice, preferrably (not required) something about justice as being blind. Thank you!

June 15th 1920. A young white couple falsly accused some young black circus workers of raping the young woman. This took place in Duluth Minnesota. Police chief John Murphy sensed they were not telling the truth but had to proceed with caution. Racial tensions were growing in Duluth as many veterans returning from war were upset at the fact that black men had been imported from the south for cheap labor in the steel plant and were also using them as strike breakers against the labor unions.
A doctors report indicated that the woman had NOT been raped but false rumors flew that she had died due to her injurys from the supposid rape. 6 men were falsly jailed and eventually the town grew so angry they stormed the jail and proceeded to drag three of the men out onto the porch of the jail where they held a vigilate trial. The mob was chanting "Lynch the N_____S" They were Isaac McGhie age 20, Elias Clayton age 19 and Elmer Jackson age 19. Isaac was the first to be hanged on a lamp post just a block away the whole time exclaiming his innocense. Elmer and Elias were soon to follow all the while also pleading for their lives. There were those in the crowd who protested the action, a catholic priest pleaded for their lives as well as the judge involved in the case. Afterward the crowds drew in to have their photographs taken next to dead young men as though to brag about their actions. These photos were printed and sold as post cards! In the following weeks 7 blacks were indicted by the grand jury on rape charges. Five of them were dismissed and the remaining 2 were tried for rape, Max Mason and William Miller. William Miller was aquitted while Max Mason was sentenced to serve 7 to 30 years in prison for a crime that never happened.
