I am almost finished with a book I am writing however financial considerations have made it almost impossible to get it finished!.The book is very important to me and the people it is about,They are all dead now but they all lived incredible lives and their stories need to be heard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Unlike some other people who answered, I recognize that sometimes working 2 jobs, being a single Mom, a caretaker for an elderly or ill relative can deplete your resources!. Sometimes there is a time constraint if you are interviewing elderly people!. You need uninterrupted time to get their stories!. I'm assuming you're using a recorder for back up to your notes if you're talking to secondary sources!. Get the 2009 Deluxe Edition (grey cover) Writer's Market & go to page awards 980!. From 980 tp page 1073 they list & describe contests & awards!. Page 1069 may be what you need!. The book costs $49!.99, but you can get it at a reference section of your public library!. Don't let the naysayers get you down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com There are grants for authors available, but rarely are they awarded to anyone who has not yet been published!. Some base their awards on the quality and marketability of the work, others on existing published work!. You will have to google for the inofrmation, just don't count on getting one to solve your problem (a part time job is far more profitable, since many grants are not a lot of money)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com So write it in your spare time like everyone else does!. Sorry, but no unpublished authors get paid to write!. They fit it in round their day jobs and other commitments!. If you've been in a position so far to be able to write without also having to work to earn enough to support yourself, then you have been extraordinarily lucky!. If you need to write, then write!. You don't need money to write, just your time and effort!.
