Question: Decent book recommendations!?
Can someone please give me some decent book recommendations!? I'm sixteen and I'll read anything that is well written, though some books I like are:

Emma by Jane Austen
The Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris!.
The Silmarillion by J!.R!.R Tolkien!.
Jessica by Bryce Courteney

Oh and by the way when I said decent I meant good quality books!. So don't suggest the Twilight 'saga'!. I have no desire to re-read a badly written series about a Mary Sue and her sparkly abusive boyfriend!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Try these:
classics (a tiny sample):
Jane Eyre- adventure, romance, secrets, betrayal, and so much more!
Lord of the Rings- a must read for everyone!.
David Copperfeild- amazing!.
The Secret Garden- somewhat younger audience, but it remains among my favorites
Gone with the Wind
Any John Steinback
Sherlock Holmes (quick and fun)
The Odessy (find a recent translation for best experience)

more modern works:
fantasy:
Maximum Ride
Harry Potter (guilty pleasure)
Eragon- very similar to LotR
Inkheart- again a tad young, but I really liked them!.
any modernized fairy tale by Gregory Maguire

regular fiction;
the Time Traveler's Wife
The Memory Keeper's Daughter
My Sister's Keeper
The Giver
The Shadow Children series- again, young but you can find the real message at an older age, so it remains interesting
The Bean Trees
The Poisonwood Bible
The Kite Runner
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Non-fiction (very short list):

You liked Emma by Jane Austen!? Then you are going to love Pride and Prejudice, and a few others by her!. You are also going to like Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and Jane Eyre by her sister Charlotte Bronte!.

The books are free to read on WebLiterature too:
