Question: I'm having a very hard time finding a literary agent! Help!?
I've been looking online and have submitted my query letter to about 3 agents (All of which either rejected it or are not interested in fiction at this time)

I want to get the writers market for this year, but Walmart isn't carrying it by me and my aunt is buying it for me for Christmas but I really want to start sending out my query letter to more agents!.

Is there anywhere online I can go to look for agents or does anybody have a book published and know of an agent currently accepting fantasy fiction for young adult to adults!?

Thanks!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay, link time -

In order to find a large number of agents who are currently accepting queries in the Fantasy YA department, check out agentquery!.com!. Go to the advanced search page (http://agentquery!.com/search_advanced!.as!.!.!. and under the white section (Fiction), not the blue section (Non-Fiction), click the ticky boxes for 'Fantasy' and 'YA'!. Below that, when it asks if you want an agent who is actively searching for new clients, select 'Yes'!. The email option is up to you!.

When you hit search, you'll hit a goldmine of agents that fall into this category!. Be careful to make note of who wants what in their submission (some want just query letters via e-mail, others want the first three chapters posted to them with an outline and synopsis), and get organized before sending stuff out!.

Some agents take months to respond!. Others take hours (my agent responded to my initial query letter in minutes)!. It's a waiting game and a painful waiting game at that, but keep at it - perseverance is the number one requirement in order to make it in the publishing world, even before talent!. Eventually you'll find someone willing to take you on as a client!.

But remember - never, ever, EVER pay an agent anything until they've sold a book for you!.

Best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your local library should have a version on literary agents and Writer's Market!. Check to see if they have the 2009 version!. This should help you get started!.

also, remember that many authors before you were rejected by agents too!. One famous author, Frank E Peretti I believe, was rejected nearly a hundred times!.

I know you're in a rush to send your letter out to more agents!. But take some time to do more research!. also, ask your English teacher/professor to read your story!. Ask others too!. Get some ideas and opinions!.

Writer's Market and Guide to Literary Agents can help get into the correct step!. You'll learn so much, and by then you'll stand a better chance!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try Jeff Herman!. His book is the Writer's Guide to Publishers, Literary Agents, blah blah blah!. Your local library probably has it or you can order it online!. The 2009 version is available now!. (He has a website, too, but I don't know how much info he posts online!.)

Christmas is just days away!. Agents might be taking off for Christmas break, too, so I'd say, take a deep breath and hold out for your Writer's Market book from your grandma!. What an awesome grandma!

And don't worry about those rejection letters!. They are badges of your courage! Keep submitting! Go go go!Www@QuestionHome@Com

In addition to Writer's Mkt, get a copy of How to be Your Own Literary Agent!. Although you might get an agent, it will not hurt to reqd this wnd find out just what an agent does, and how you could do it yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
