Where would be a place in a small town to learn wood works?

Question: Where would be a place in a small town to learn wood works!?

Okay, my character, in my book, is a whiz at wood works, and I guess in America there is no option of that for a school subjcet [tell me if there is in Home Ec or something - what's it called as well!?]

So, where would it be!? Town Learning Centre or something!? I need a name for it!.
