The color and design of the cover is more important than you might think!. However, don't just pick bright colors because they're eye-catching!. The most important part of a cover is its expression of the content of the book!. If you make sure that the cover matches what the book is about, then make it eye-catching within that range, your cover will attract people most likely to enjoy your book!. If it's a romance, use lovely colors, and the women and girls will notice it before the duller-colored books beside it!. If it's a war-themed book, use darker colors that will appeal to your (mostly male) audience!.

So, in summary, designing the cover is all about what you want people to see first about your book!. Although one isn't supposed to judge books by their covers, people often do!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

For me, it isn't the color but the design!. If you have a compelling cover design, I'm more likely to pick up your book!. I really like the new trend of minimalist covers - I'm not a Twilight fan, but someone did a great job on the cover designs, at least for the first three!. "Paper Towns" also has a great cover - girl's face, title, author!. Very simple, very striking!.

One of my favorite covers is on the book "Prep" - it has the image of a preppy ribbon belt printed across a white background!. Very striking, very minimal, and very relevant to the book's content!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah!.!.!. I would have to say that I'm a sucker for eye catching things!.!.!.

The colour for your book I feel should depend on what it's about, who your targeted readers are, and what kind of emotions it involves!.!.!. Do you want to expand on your book so that I can be of better assistance to you!?

How exciting!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It actually depends on your title!.
If your title is something like " The Worlds Greatest Warrior " then red or dark brown would be good!.
In my opinion, bright colours don't really catch my eye!.
So, you should discuss it with your cover designer!. He would know!.

Hope I helped!

definitely!. if i walk into a bookstore and all of the books are black exept for one bright yellow book, im obviously going to take a look at that book before the others!. red, yellow, orange, and lime green are all very eyecatching colors for a book cover!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi there,

I am always drawn to colours that are not very bright, such as a soft brown, beige or old rose - but then again, that's me and my peculiar tastes!

Sometimes - black suggests horror or crime, purple romance, green fantasy and pink chick lit!. Books with a dull or greyish colour usually tend to be more literary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would buy something that is full black, but has huge contrast colors in the title/middle!. It really makes it easy to catch people's attention!.

Hope it helps :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rainbow is always eye catching and it looks really pretty!
And make sure the spine is eye catching too because that how they're stacked sometimes!
